Open-Top Wedding Limousine Hire

Very few things look more romantic than the bride arriving at her wedding venue in some form of open-top luxury limousine. Sydney is famous for its wedding backdrops and typically good weather and all those things come together to make for a wonderful display and some fantastic photos and associated memories.

We are intensely proud of our wedding limousine hire services and can make virtually any requirement that you might think of happen. In the specific case of the open-topped vehicles though there are a few things we would respectfully recommend that you keep in mind:
  • for large parts of the year, rain is not a serious risk but it does sometimes happen and from time to time, not always with a lot of advance notice. We can usually provide a vehicle that has a collapsible roof should the worst happen but if you consider a vehicle that doesn’t have such, it will be important to keep an eye on the weather forecast;
  • sometimes gusts of wind can also be a significant issue in open-top vehicles. If that involves moving around hair and headdresses or blowing clouds of dust on to the bride prior to arrival at the venue, the effect may be spoiled somewhat.  There is nothing specific anyone can do to guarantee to avoid this but it is something to remember when selecting your vehicle;
  • there have been documented instances of birds overhead doing what birds sometimes do. The results may be unpleasant to say the least and perhaps funny for others but not for the affected parties;

The Importance of Translators

There is no serious dispute that English is the global language of business, science and commerce.

Whatever might be the case in 100 or 200 years’ time, today it’s probably a relatively safe assumption that most senior overseas business visitors to Australia will have a good working command of the language.

However, that should not encourage complacency.

The fact is that there are exceptions to the above general rule.  Some VIPs may only have a “fair” knowledge of the language and that is something, as a host, it would be prudent to take out some insurance against.

That insurance is having an interpreter available when you have your luxury limousine hire vehicle meet your VIP at the airport.

The reasoning behind this is clear:
  •  If your visitor does not speak good English, having the interpreter on hand may be invaluable and someone that gets the “wheels rolling”;
  • Even if they do have very good English, your provision of an interpreter shows thought and courtesy. It also indicates that you value their language and culture – and are prepared to deal in that if necessary.

Of course, there is the slight possibility that your visitor might be slightly offended that you thought they’d need an interpreter.  However, the chances of that occurring are perhaps relatively small and the benefits as outlined above, may outweigh any such risk considerably.

Luxury Coaches and Company Conferences

Following a recent comment from a visitor that they had “found it difficult to get employees to voluntary attend a company conference”, we thought we would re-revisit a previous blog that’s closely related to this subject.

It had its origins in the fact that we don’t only provide luxury limousines.  Sydney and elsewhere, we can also provide luxury coaches.

Company conferences

It is a sometimes painful fact of life that not all employees relish attending that periodic company conference.

In truth, there may be many reasons why that’s the case.  Some of them may have little or nothing to do with the subject we’re about as discuss – group transport.

However, from our vast experience, we know that employees are sometimes less than enthusiastic about conferences for reasons that ARE related to transport.

Those reasons might include:
  •   It adds complexity to daily logistics in a situation where a family is using a single car for daily commuting purposes to different locations and suddenly a conference venue has popped into the frame too;
  • Some conference centres are notoriously challenging to find parking in and around;
  • When out of town conferences are held, the additional fuel and parking costs are sometimes left to be picked up by individual attendees;

Exploring Some Features of Limousines

Apart from the additional space and pleasant appearance a limo, some individuals cannot understand all the features a limo service has to offer you. You won’t find huge televisions interior of most ordinary cars. This permits you to enjoy your favourite movies or shows while traveling, which makes it so you won't also be redeemed with a longer excursion. For company travel, it is possible to tune in to local political or news channels to keep you updated while on the street.

A limo service in Sydney will make sure that you're comfortable when riding at the limousine. They do it by implementing lavish, leather seats that can make you never need to escape the automobile. Along with this, there's far more seats in a limo than a normal vehicle, and that means you can stretch out and unwind while riding. The windows are tinted so that outsiders cannot even see up to your darkness when they're driving or walking past. This permits you to appreciate your limousine ride with your loved ones and friends without the worries of being viewed or judged.

In most limo, they employ the top drivers and perform extensive background checks before letting them beneath the wheel. Not all other providers can say exactly the same. When most cars now have a stereo system integrated in to them, a limo service gives a distinct experience. A luxury limo service has just the highest high quality stereo systems implemented to the car or truck. Additionally, because the back of a limousine is more spacious, the noise will travel across the automobile a great deal better. Blast your favourite songs and dancing like nobody is watching!

Update on Chauffeur-free Limousine Technology

Over the last couple of years or so, we have commented several times on the mass publicity surrounding driverless cars.

To recap, we have said that we are very interested in this developing technology and that it is something we find very exciting as a future prospect.  However, we have also previously voiced concerns about unduly “gung-ho” forecasts relating to how soon such vehicles are likely to be available for large-scale real-life road use.

Regrettably, since our last comments on the subject, there has been another case involving a vehicle not under direct human control and a fatal accident.  At the time of writing, the full conclusions have yet to be published but early indications appear to suggest that this may have been attributable to the failure of the automatic driving system installed in the vehicle.

We mention the subject again because it is one that regularly generates questions from our clients in terms of how we see things going in the immediate future.  This tragedy reinforces our view that this technology is far from fully proven or sufficiently robust, in the sense of public safety, for it to be rolled-out into the marketplace.

Third Party Liability Insurance

We blogged on this some time ago but a recent customer question has suggested it might be worthwhile re-visiting the subject.

By law, a vehicle on the road must have a minimum of third party liability insurance.  What that means is that if due legal process finds that the vehicle’s driver was responsible for an accident and awards damages to the other party involved, there is an insurance policy in place to meet the potentially large sums involved.

Of course, most private car owners will have higher levels of cover than the legal minimum.  That will be in order to protect their vehicle and the costs of repairing or replacing it following an accident.

In principle, these legal distinctions also apply to luxury limo hire companies such as Bayside Limousines.  However, the legal requirements and the insurance cover details change considerably when the vehicle is being used for “hire and reward” as opposed to private motoring purposes.

Typically, a standard personal use third party liability insurance policy will not be valid in situations where the vehicle concerned is being used as a taxi or private hire limousine.  A specific registered business luxury limousine hire policy is required in order to ensure that both the public’s and the hiring client’s interests are protected should the worst happen in an accident. Read more about........Third Party Liability Insurance.

FAQs – Luxury Coach Hire and Punctuality

Here is another in our “frequently asked questions” series.  This one discusses punctuality issues associated with luxury coach hire services.

Can you guarantee that your coach will arrive on time?

In almost all cases, yes we can.

That covers both arrival in terms of collection and the subsequent arrival at your point of destination.

Of course, not even we can plan for exceptional issues that might arise such as an accident on the road ahead which blocks traffic.  Such events are exceedingly rare though.

What is the biggest thing to look out for in terms of punctuality on the trip?

In our experience, the commonest problem that leads to delays is that of members of the hiring party failing to arrive on time at the designated point of departure on either the outbound or inbound trip.

We are completely at your disposal and will be happy to adjust the schedule as required by your party’s individual situation.  However, in circumstances where we have advised you of the latest departure time necessary to arrive at the destination within a given limited time slot, any delays in departure may put the arrival time at risk.

Top Tips for Getting Major Event Tickets

For many people, attending a big sporting or entertainment event can be something that they look forward to for months.

This domain is one that is also very popular both with private individuals and of course, corporate event hospitality.

However, it is also an unfortunate fact of life that sometimes problems can arise in one of three areas:
an inability to secure tickets;

major problems getting to the event on time;

prohibitive ticket costs.

In what follows, we'll examine a few top tips as to how the risks of encountering problems in these areas can be reduced or even eliminated:

plan and apply for your tickets as early as possible. Major events are almost always in high demand and leaving things until the last moment is a strategy likely to result in extreme disappointment;
in cases where demand vastly exceeds supply, whatever the various regulations and laws might say,

you may need to accept that you will be forced to go to the private marketplace in order to secure tickets. If you do need to secure tickets from agencies or resellers, it is probably advisable to try and get them earlier rather than later.

Using Our Personal Concierge Service for Event Tickets

We offer what we call our “personal concierge” service.

It essentially means that we will take care of 100% of the arrangements for your day.

That includes the obvious things such as providing one of our exclusive limousines as part of our standard limo hire services as well as making any other arrangements required to ensure that your day is a success.

One of the most popular of our personal concierge added-value services is that of arranging tickets to major events.  It’s something we excel at, and we’re often able to assist where others fail by virtue of our extensive network of business contacts.

Specifically, in terms of major event tickets, some of the following points might be worth keeping in mind:
  • where major national or international sporting events are involved, the more notice we have, the more likely we are to be able to secure you tickets of the type that you require;
  • we can often assist in “last-minute” situations but please remember that leaving your arrangements late may mean that not even we will be able to secure you the tickets you’re looking for; Read more about ...........Using Our Personal Concierge Service for Event Tickets.

Limo Service – Flexibility

We have a total and unconditional commitment to service quality.

We’re not interested in offering excuses or “sharing our problems” with our clients.  It just doesn’t happen and instead we simply deliver.

However our Limousine hire, Sydney and elsewhere, is typically in high demand.  At certain times our most prestigious vehicles can be booked for some period ahead and we always recommend advance bookings where it is at all possible.  That way you can have the vehicle you want, for as long as you wish to use it.

Of course, life isn’t always that simple for our clients.  We know that, to take business as an example, limousine hire requirements are rarely as predictable in advance as say the date of wedding limousine requirements or coach hire for a corporate event.

That’s why in our planning, we do try to keep a degree of spare capacity in order to cope with last-minute and highly urgent requirements.  The message here is simple – if you need a luxury limousine urgently, please don’t assume we won’t be able to provide one because of the short notice.

Our fleet “traffic control” processes are complicated but we are also experts at doing it! That means we can sometimes conjure vehicles out of small overlaps in availability, so as to deliver you the service you need and when you need it.

FAQs - Employee Voluntary Attendance at Company Events

Many human resource professionals will tell you that they were disappointed with employee attendance at or employee response to, company communication events.

In what follows, we will be discussing events that are voluntary rather than those where attendance is compulsory. We'll be examining just why some of these things can go so badly wrong and yield disappointment for the sponsoring organization.

Why is employee take up so poor in terms of available places?

It is impossible to say for sure and further analysis would be required.

Typically though, poor employee attendance at company sponsored events can usually be attributable to one of two generic things:

morale in your organisation is low and/or;

there is something fundamentally wrong with the logistics of the session, meaning that it is either not of interest to the majority of employees or it is simply too difficult for them to be there.

Don’t Take Chances with your Wedding Limousines

This is another old favourite subject of ours but we saw a story recently on this that was both funny and sad. In fact, it’s similar to another such story we saw a while back.

This one related to an incident in the UK where the limousine driver concerned managed to get “hopelessly lost” on the way to the church with the bridegroom and best man.

Running later and later and with increasing desperation evident in the vehicle, the situation was approaching crisis point.  The chauffeur confessed that he didn’t know how to use the satellite navigation system and the increasingly panicking three men were reduced to asking passers-by for directions and calling other guests to try and get directions to the church – which wasn’t easy given they weren’t even sure where they were!

More by good luck than good judgment, the limousine eventually managed to arrive on the far side of the church grounds but then became stuck trying to go the wrong way down a one-way system.  The bridegroom and best man, in frustration, jumped out of the vehicle, climbed a high set of railings between the road and the church’s graveyard and then sprinted through the muddy grounds to the church itself.

Top Tips for Limo Hire to and from Airports

Thanks to our vast experience in getting clients to and from the airport on time, we’ve accumulated a number of great tips that you may find useful.

These are listed below:
  • if possible, try to build some slack time into your journey if you are outbound and connecting with a flight. We can advise there. That’s because not even our limo service Sydney (or elsewhere) chauffeurs can unconditionally guarantee that there won’t be delays on the road heading to the airport;
  • if you are running late in terms of meeting your luxury limo, do please let us know as soon as possible. It may enable us to consider alternative options for trying to ensure that you meet your flight;
  • we strongly recommend that you have your passports, tickets and boarding passes, conveniently to hand. If you are using our personal concierge service, we will ensure that you get to the gate as fast as possible but troubles with finding your paperwork may cause delays for you and associated flight closure traumas;

Getting Clients to Attend Your Seminars

Unfortunately, such efforts often fail. Some of the commonest reasons given by potential attendees, as to why they did not actually attend, are given below.

If you are disappointed with your attendance rates at such sessions, it might be sensible to take steps to do something about these things!

1. Transport not provided.

Many seminars and other such sessions include lunch. Attendees may appreciate a little alcohol but worry about driving back afterwards. Lay on transport to and from the venue and this problem might be removed. Remember, luxury limousine hire, Sydney and elsewhere, is not as expensive as it sounds and it might offer a substantial return on investment - particularly where key players are involved.

Have you Considered a Limo for your Night Out?

Luxury limos are often associated with the corporate world or weddings.  A slight variation on that is the perception that they tend to be used by superstars of one sort or another.

While that is a significant part of our business, as we’ve said before, it would be a pity if that was the only way they were seen.  That’s because they can prove to be invaluable as a way for anyone to enjoy a night out.

We have mentioned this one before in our blogs, majoring on “convenience”. Here though, we’d like to do so again but this time picking up a particularly painful statistic.  That relates to the number of alcohol-related driving deaths in Australia.

The last statistics that we’ve seen relate to 2015.  They show quite clearly that just over 30 per cent of all driving fatalities in Australia were attributable to excessive alcohol. Read more about............Limo for your Night Out.
